(R,R)-Secoisolariciresinol diglucoside ((R,R)-SDG) possesses antioxidant and free radical scavenging activities and DNA-radioprotective properties. (R,R)-Secoisolariciresinol diglucoside ((R,R)-SDG) inhibits myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity by suppressing both the peroxidase and chlorination cyclesin inflammatory cells[2][3].
